3 Spells To Stop Procrastination

Procrastination is perhaps the biggest problem in this day and age. We have way too many things to do, tons of responsibilities, hobbies we want to dedicate time to, and yet we do none of these. Instead, we roam around online, looking at social media, and surfing random websites and maybe trying to find a “cure” for this problem.

So if you have been having this problem as well and are looking to witchcraft for a solution, I have just the thing for you.

The countdown Meditation

Solving the problem of postponing tasks is hard to solve without any items, but I think I have managed to find the right method. This way, you can get started on whatever you want, you just need to take 5 minutes of your time and follow this ritual.

Find a quiet spot, then cast a simple magick circle. You can do this by holding out one of your hands, spinning clockwise, and calling upon the elements or deities you believe in for protection and help. Then sit down in the middle and meditate. Empty your mind, get rid of the anxiety that has filled you up from all the tasks you need to do. Don’t try to hurry this. Otherwise, you won’t be able to proceed with your ritual.

Once your mind is at peace, it’s time to think back on what you need to do slowly. Think of these thoughts as water droplets from a barely open faucet, let them come one by one. If they come flooding in, you will just get anxious again, and you will need to start over. Go over what you want to get done, imagine doing all the things you need and let yourself feel the satisfaction that comes with completing your tasks.

Bask in that feeling. Let it fill the circle and overwhelm your body. After a minute or two, you should feel ready and motivated to start whatever you need to do. At this point you need to start counting down from ten, promising yourself to get started as soon as you finish. You can close the magick circle by standing up, holding out the same hand, spinning clockwise, and thanking the elements and deities for helping, then asking them to leave respectfully.

Spell for motivation

This spell isn’t exactly great if you are already motivated, but putting off the work. If this is the case, I highly suggest seeing a therapist. Executive dysfunction disorder is not a joke, and witchcraft won’t help you solve it.

This spell is excellent if you can’t work because you don’t feel motivated or don’t see a reason to hurry your work.

You will need:

  • A black candle
  • Pepper (ground)
  • Rosemary (oil or dry herbs)
  • Cloves (oil or dry herbs)

It’s best if you perform this spell during the waning moon, but we all know that sometimes you just can’t wait and need to do something right away. If this is the case for you, don’t wait for the right moon phase, the spell will work just fine if you have strong intentions.

First, anoint your candle if you have oils made of rosemary and cloves, or put the herbs at the base of it. Then rub the ground pepper on the candle, making sure that at least some of it sticks. Once that’s done, you can light the candle and say the following:

Release procrastination from my mind, my inactive state I leave behind. Empty now, all negativity and leave only peace and clarity. I work with speed and precision. This is my will, so shall it be, harm to none, nor return on me.

You can say this once or repeat it three to nine times, although I highly recommend three. Whichever you feel works best for you. After this, you can blow out the candle and move on to do what you need.

Long-term procrastination banishment

I think this is what all of us need because let’s face it, we all try to postpone some of our tasks even if they need to be done reasonably quickly. And it’s a drag to perform a ritual each time you need motivation. So with this spell, you can banish procrastination for a more extended amount of time (for at least a week, but if your intentions are strong enough, it can last up to a couple of months).

You will need:

  • Small black candle (unused)
  • Thyme
  • Spruce oil

First, put a tiny bit of spruce oil on the candle. Don’t anoint it. You don’t want your whole house smelling like spruce for an entire week. One drop is enough. Once that’s done, you can light the candle and say the following:

Not the time for inactivity, I need to take action. Give me strength and focus, so that I may prosper. By the power of three, so mote it be.

Repeat three times and let the candle burn down. You should be protected from procrastination now, so getting started on your work will be much easier at this point.

Final thoughts

Just remember one thing: sometimes motivation and witchcraft simply aren’t enough. You have to have a strong will, mind, and dedication to be able to complete specific tasks, and you shouldn’t rely on magick to solve these problems all the time.
